Growth Projections in the Demand for Housing in Kent County
28 February 2023Over the past three years, we have seen a consistent rise in building permit values in Kent County, even through a pandemic and uncertainty. 2019 ended with permit values of $25.6 million and 349 permits issued. 2020, with all its challenges, ended with values of $38.5 million and 527 permits issued. 2021 finished with permit values of $50 million and 622 permits.
2022 was no disappointment, hitting a new record in Kent County for permit values of $ 68,679,100.00 with only 587 issued permits. This means a staggering 167% increase from 2019 and a 37% increase from 2021. The Kent Regional Service Commission is pleased with 2022 and eager to see what 2023 will bring.
